Found: The Comfort of His Relentless Love

The God Who Doesn’t Give Up - relentless love, faithfulness of God. Friend, have you ever felt that whisper in your soul, that gentle nudge even when you’ve…

Scripture
"“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home.”"

— Luke 15:4-5

From the book "Still Walking"
"The God Who Doesn’t Give Up - relentless love, faithfulness of God."

Friend, have you ever felt that whisper in your soul, that gentle nudge even when you’ve wandered far off the path? It's like a soft breeze on a summer day, a reminder that you are deeply loved, no matter where life has taken you. We all have those moments, don't we? Days when we feel a little lost, a little adrift, wondering if anyone even notices we're gone. But here's the beautiful truth: God notices. He always notices.

Think about it – a shepherd with a hundred sheep. Ninety-nine are safe and sound, grazing peacefully. But one, just one, has strayed. What does the shepherd do? Does he just shrug and say, 'Oh well, at least I have ninety-nine'? No, absolutely not! He leaves the ninety-nine in the open country and he goes after that one lost sheep until he finds it. That, my dear friend, is the picture of our God’s heart for you.

Maybe you’ve been that sheep, feeling a little disoriented, perhaps even a bit lonely out there. You might have felt the weight of your own choices, or the unexpected storms of life pushing you into a wilderness you never intended to enter. It’s easy to think that once we wander, we’ve used up our welcome, that we’ve exhausted God’s patience. But that’s simply not true.

God isn’t counting your missteps; He’s counting on His incredible, overflowing love for you. He’s not sitting back, waiting for you to perfectly navigate your way back to Him. No, He is actively pursuing you. His love isn't a passive hope; it's a powerful, magnetic force that draws you in. It’s a love that says, 'I see you. I know where you are. And I'm coming for you.'

And when He finds you, what happens? Does He scold you? Does He lecture you on all the ways you went wrong? Not at all! The scripture says He joyfully puts you on His shoulders and goes home. Joyfully! Can you imagine that embrace? That feeling of being scooped up, not in condemnation, but in pure, unadulterated gladness? That’s your Heavenly Father, always delighted to bring you back into His presence.

So today, let that truth settle deep in your spirit. No matter how far you’ve roamed, no matter what you’ve faced, God’s love for you remains relentless, unwavering, and full of joy. You are always, always, on His mind and in His heart. He’s running toward you, arms open wide, ready to carry you home. Embrace the comfort of His faithful pursuit, knowing that His grace is always extended, and His shoulders are always strong enough to bear you.

Reflect

How does knowing that God joyfully pursues you, even when you stray, change the way you see yourself and your journey of faith?

Today's prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your incredible, relentless love that never gives up on us. We are so grateful that even when we wander, You pursue us with such joy and grace. Help us to feel Your strong, loving arms around us today, carrying us through every challenge. Thank You for never counting our failures, but always celebrating our return. We trust in Your unfailing faithfulness and rest in the assurance of Your beautiful pursuit.
