Complete in Him: You Lack Nothing!

True contentment flows from knowing we are complete in Christ, needing nothing more than His abundant grace. Have you ever noticed how we're always looking…

Scripture
"For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority."

— Colossians 2:9-10

From the book "Still Walking"
"True contentment flows from knowing we are complete in Christ, needing nothing more than His abundant grace."

Have you ever noticed how we're always looking for `more`? Maybe it’s that new car, the perfect relationship, a bigger house, or even just another achievement to add to the resume. We chase after these things, hoping they’ll fill a void deep down inside, a feeling that something is missing. We think, 'If I just had *that*, then I’d finally be whole, finally happy.' But often, when we get what we thought we wanted, the feeling of emptiness creeps right back in, leaving us a little more tired and a lot less fulfilled.

Friend, I want to share a profound truth that will set your heart free. The Bible tells us in Colossians 2:9-10 that 'in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.' Can you imagine? All of God’s divine nature, all of His power and glory, lives perfectly in Jesus. And here's the beautiful part: because you are `in Christ`, you have already been brought to **fullness**.

This isn't a promise for some distant future where you’ll finally get it all together. No, this is a declaration of your present reality! Right now, in this very moment, because of Jesus, you are complete. You are enough. You lack nothing essential. Isn't that incredible? You don't need to strive, you don't need to earn it, you just need to `receive` it.

Think about it like this: when you accept Jesus into your heart, you're not just getting a little piece of God; you’re receiving `all` of Him. Every bit of wisdom, every ounce of strength, every drop of peace, and every measure of love dwells within you through Christ. You are sealed, you are secure, and you are supremely loved. There’s no deficit, no missing piece, no broken part that He hasn’t already made whole.

This truth should revolutionize the way you approach your day. Instead of constantly searching for validation or trying to prove your worth, you can live from a place of abundance. When you truly grasp that you are complete in Christ, the pressure comes off. You can relax, breathe deeply, and enjoy the journey, knowing that the greatest treasure, the fullness of God, is already yours.

Today, let that truth settle deep into your spirit. You are not a half-finished project waiting for completion. You are a masterpiece in progress, yes, but fundamentally, `you are full` because Christ is full, and He lives in you. Embrace this blessed assurance. Walk in the confidence of His completeness. You are divinely complete, wonderfully made, and perfectly loved. God’s grace is super-abundant in you!

May you walk today with the incredible joy and peace that comes from knowing you are utterly complete in Christ, abounding in His endless grace and favor.

Reflect

What does it truly mean to you, personally, to be "complete in Christ," and how might that understanding transform your daily striving into peaceful living?

Today's prayer
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the incredible gift of Your Son, Jesus, in whom all the fullness of Your divine nature dwells. We praise You that because we are in Him, we too have been brought to fullness. Forgive us for the times we have forgotten this truth, chasing after temporary things to fill what only You can satisfy. Help us to truly rest in Your completed work on the cross, knowing that in You, we lack absolutely nothing. Amen.
