When You Feel Weak, You Are Strong

Humility isn't just admitting our weaknesses; it's inviting God's power to perfect itself within them. Friend, have you ever felt like you're running on…

Scripture
"But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."

— 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

From the book "Still Walking"
"Humility isn't just admitting our weaknesses; it's inviting God's power to perfect itself within them."

Friend, have you ever felt like you're running on empty, like you've hit a wall and just can't go on? We all have those moments, don't we? Life throws its curveballs, and sometimes we feel like we're not strong enough, smart enough, or capable enough to handle it all. We strive for perfection, we push ourselves to be self-sufficient, and we try to paint a picture of unwavering strength. But what if I told you that in those very moments of weakness, you're actually poised for your greatest strength?

It sounds upside down, doesn't it? Our human nature tells us to hide our struggles, to tough it out, to prove our worth. But God, in His infinite wisdom, has a different plan. He doesn't ask us to be perfect. He doesn't ask us to be self-sufficient. In fact, He invites us to do the exact opposite. He says, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." What a magnificent promise!

Think about Paul, that mighty apostle. He had a "thorn in his flesh," something that nagged at him, something he desperately wanted God to remove. He wasn't shy about asking, yet God's answer wasn't removal, but revelation. It was a divine download of truth: "My power is made perfect in weakness." This wasn't a denial of Paul's request; it was an upgrade to a whole new level of understanding.

So often, we see our weaknesses as liabilities, as things to be overcome or hidden. But God sees them as opportunities. When we come to the end of ourselves, when our own strength runs out, that's when God's limitless power can truly shine through. It's in our vulnerability, in our honest admission of "I can't do this alone," that we create the space for His miraculous intervention. It's where His grace becomes our greatest asset, always there, always enough.

Today, I want to encourage you to embrace your humanity, to release the pressure to be perfect. Don't be afraid to admit where you're struggling, where you feel inadequate. Because when you do, you're not showing weakness; you're opening the door for God's strength to flow through you in an unprecedented way. You're inviting His power to perfect itself in your imperfections.

Friend, know this: God doesn't just tolerate your weaknesses; He uses them. He takes your cracks and fills them with His glory, making you a vessel of His unshakeable power. So, let's boast in our weaknesses, not out of defeat, but out of a triumphant understanding that when we are weak, then, and only then, are we truly strong in Him. Get ready to see His strength transform your life in ways you never imagined! You are a masterpiece in the making, perfectly empowered by His unending grace.

Reflect

Where in your life today can you intentionally lean into your weakness, trusting that God's perfect power is waiting to be revealed?

Today's prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, acknowledging that our strength often falters. Thank You for Your incredible promise that Your grace is always sufficient, and that Your power is made perfect in our weaknesses. Help us to gladly embrace our vulnerabilities, trusting that when we feel least capable, You are most at work within us. Fill us with Your supernatural strength and peace today. Amen.
