Scripture
"He says, 'Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.'"

— Psalm 46:10

From the book "Still Walking"
"A silent God is still a near Savior."

My friend, have you ever found yourself in one of life's quiet seasons? Perhaps you’ve been praying, pouring out your heart, searching for a sign, a whisper, a clear direction from above, but all you hear is… well, nothing. It’s like the heavens have turned into a brass ceiling, and your words just echo back to you. In those moments, it's so easy for doubt to try and steal your peace, to whisper, 'Has God forgotten me? Does He even truly care?' I understand. We’ve all been there, wondering if the silence means absence. But I’m here to tell you, with all the joy and hope in my heart, that a silent God is still a very, very near Savior.

Now, let's be honest, going through those quiet times isn't always easy. In fact, it can be downright challenging. The longing to hear His voice, to feel His presence in a tangible way, can be intense. But here’s the powerful truth: just because we don't *hear* His booming voice doesn't mean He's not speaking. Sometimes, His communication comes in the most beautiful, subtle ways. It’s the unexpected surge of inner strength that carries you through a tough day, the spontaneous, uplifting message from a friend, or that gentle shift in your perspective that suddenly allows you to take a deep, peaceful breath.

His presence isn’t always a grand, dramatic production; sometimes, it’s a quiet, reassuring hum beneath the surface of your life, a steady rhythm of grace and mercy. Think about it: the good Shepherd is always watching over His flock, always protecting, always guiding, even when His sheep don't feel the nudge of His staff or hear His spoken word. His nearness, His presence with you, isn't dependent on your awareness of it. It's a rock-solid, unchanging truth, an anchor for your soul in every storm, especially in the storms of silence.

So, when the quiet moments come, when you feel that longing for a clearer sign, don't grow discouraged. Instead, lean into that stillness. Seek Him not in the clamor of a thousand demands for answers, but in the peaceful, unwavering truth that He is always there. He's closer than you can possibly imagine, orchestrating breakthroughs and showering you with blessings, even when the silence around you seems to speak volumes. Truly, my friend, He is working all things for your good, and His favor is always upon you, drawing you into a deeper, more profound relationship with Him.

Reflect

How can you actively cultivate a deeper sense of God’s presence, even when you don’t outwardly hear or feel Him?

Today's prayer
Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, knowing that even in the quiet moments, Your presence surrounds us. Help us, Lord, to feel Your unwavering love and to trust in Your perfect timing. When our hearts long for a sign, give us the grace to rest in the assurance that You are always near, always working, always leading us toward blessings and breakthroughs. We thank You that Your goodness and mercy follow us all the days of our lives. Amen.
