Scripture
"Give thanks to the God of heaven. His love endures forever."

— Psalm 136:26

From the book "Still Walking"
"When everything else shifted beneath my feet, when my own love faded, there was one truth that remained unwavering: God's love, steadfast and strong as an anchor."

My friend, have you ever found yourself in a place where the ground beneath you felt like shifting sand? Maybe you’ve faced moments when your best intentions crumbled, and you questioned if you were truly worthy of love, especially God’s love. It's easy to get caught in that spiral, isn't it? To let the whispers of doubt convince you that His affection is conditional, that it dwindles when we stumble or stray.

But let me tell you something wonderful, something that will lift your spirit and bring a smile to your heart: God’s love for you isn't like that at all. It doesn’t fade, it doesn't falter, and it certainly doesn’t disappear when you make a mistake. It's a love that is constant, strong, and utterly unwavering, just like an anchor holding a ship steady in the fiercest storm.

The Psalms, those ancient songs of the soul, echo this magnificent truth over and over. They declare, loud and clear, that His love endures forever! It's not a suggestion; it's a divine declaration. It's not dependent on your performance, your perfect attendance record, or how many praise reports you have. It's simply who He is. His nature is love, and that never changes.

Think about that for a moment: His love is an attribute of His very being. It’s not something He feels one day and not the next. It’s not a mood that shifts with the weather of your actions. No, His love is a steadfast, rock-solid foundation that remains firm, even when everything else around you feels uncertain.

When we truly grasp this truth, it’s like a breath of fresh air for our weary souls. It's like finding your way home after a long journey in the dark, stepping into a warm, brightly lit room where you are completely welcome and deeply cherished. This understanding liberates us from the exhausting pressure to earn His affection or to constantly try to measure up.

His love for you isn't based on who you are or what you do; it’s based on who He is. And because He is good, because He is love, His steadfast affection for you is an eternal promise. No matter how far you've wandered, no matter what mistakes you've made, His grace is always there, arms open wide, ready to embrace you.

So today, let this truth sink deep into your heart. Let it become the anchor for your soul. You are loved, unconditionally and eternally, by the God of heaven. His love endures forever, and that, my friend, is your unshakable hope, your unending peace, and your greatest blessing.

Today's prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, amazed by the depth of Your steadfast love. Thank You that Your affection for us is not based on our performance, but on Your unchanging nature. Help us to fully embrace this glorious truth, to let it be the anchor for our souls in every season. Forgive us for ever doubting Your good intentions or believing the lies that Your love could ever fade. We choose to live in the overflowing joy of Your eternal grace. Amen.
