Scripture
"For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning."

— Psalm 30:5 (NIV)

From the book "Still Walking"
"When Light Returns Slowly - gradual restoration, patience in healing."

'Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.' What a beautiful promise, friend! Have you ever known those long, dark nights of the soul? Days when the sun seemed to set in your spirit, and you wondered if the light would ever truly break through again? Perhaps you’ve walked through a season of loss, a period of deep questioning, or simply felt a spiritual dryness that left you longing for the vibrant faith you once knew. In those moments, it's so natural to yearn for an instant flip of the switch, a sudden, blinding flash of restoration that sweeps away all the shadows. We want the glory days back, and we want them now!

But our loving God, in His infinite wisdom and tender care, often works in a different way. He understands that some healing needs to unfold gently, gradually, like the first soft blush of dawn. He knows that true, lasting restoration isn't always a lightning bolt; sometimes, it's a slow, steady sunrise, painting the sky with colors you never imagined. Just as the morning doesn't explode onto the scene but rather whispers its arrival, so too does His light return to our lives.

Think about it: the darkest hour is always just before the dawn. Then, a tiny sliver of grey appears on the horizon, almost imperceptible. Then a hint of rose, deepening into a magnificent orange and gold, until, finally, the full blaze of the sun crests the mountains. Each stage is crucial, each moment beautiful in its own unfolding. It's a journey of hope, a gentle progression from shadow to spectacular light.

And so it is with your life, my dear friend. You might be wishing for a dramatic turnaround, a sudden sprint to the finish line of healing. But God is inviting you to savor the sacred slowness, to trust the process. He's not ignoring your prayers for light; He's simply bringing it on His perfect timetable. Every small glimmer of hope, every quiet moment of peace, every whisper of understanding – these are all signs that His favor is at work, meticulously restoring your soul, piece by beautiful piece.

Don't ever despise the season of gradual restoration. Don't let impatience steal your joy in the unfolding miracle. Each gentle increment is a testament to His steadfast love and His intentional hand guiding you. He is not stalling; He is sculpting. He is not delaying; He is developing. He is carefully, tenderly leading you out of the night and into a glorious new day, filled with His unfailing favor and unending joy. Get ready, joy is on its way, for your morning is coming!
