Scripture
"You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore."

— Psalm 16:11

From the book "Still Walking"
"There's a subtle difference between feeling momentary happiness and experiencing true, abiding joy. I found that joy wasn't something to be manufactured or chased, but discovered, cultivated, in the quiet spaces of His presence."

'''Friend, have you ever felt like you’re on a never-ending scavenger hunt for joy? You race from one promising spot to the next—a new gadget, a thrilling experience, a bigger accomplishment—only to find that the satisfaction fades quicker than a summer sunset. It’s like trying to fill a bucket with a hole in the bottom; no matter how much you pour in, it never quite stays full. We’re constantly bombarded with messages that whisper, "More, bigger, better!" promising that the next big thing will finally deliver that elusive, lasting happiness. But often, those external pursuits leave us feeling more depleted than delighted, always reaching, always wanting. It’s a wearying cycle, isn’t it? A constant chase that leaves our spirits tired and our hearts longing for something real. You see, the world offers fleeting pleasures, but God offers so much more. He offers an overflowing wellspring of joy that never runs dry, a peace that anchors your soul no matter the storm. It’s not something you manufacture or chase. It's something you discover, cultivate, and intimately experience in the quiet, sacred space of His presence. Our scripture today, Psalm 16:11, paints such a beautiful, vivid picture for us. It says, “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Notice it doesn't say "some joy" or "a little joy." It says "fullness of joy!" That’s an abundance, a complete and overflowing measure of delight that comes from being connected to the Source of all good things. Think about that for a moment. Fullness of joy isn’t a destination you grudgingly arrive at after a long, arduous journey. It’s a gift waiting for you in His presence. It’s a deep, settled peace that whispers to your heart, "You are known, you are loved, you are held." This joy isn't dependent on perfect circumstances or things going your way. It’s a joy that runs deeper than your surface emotions, a confidence that comes from knowing the Creator of the universe walks beside you. So, how do we step into this beautiful reality? It’s simpler than you might think. It’s in those quiet moments, whether in your morning devotion, a conscious prayer whispered throughout your busy day, or simply acknowledging His goodness as you go about your tasks. It

Reflect

What "path of life" do you sense God is revealing to you right now, and how can you intentionally cultivate His presence to experience the fullness of joy he promises along the way?

Today's prayer
'''Dear God, thank You for the incredible promise of full and overflowing joy found in Your presence. We open our hearts to You today, inviting You closer into every moment, every thought, every feeling. Help us to cultivate a constant awareness of Your nearness, to lean into Your peace, and to find our deepest delight and fulfillment in You. May our lives be a testament to the abundant joy You freely give. Amen.'''
