When Your Morning Comes

Sometimes, the darkness feels like it will never break. But even in the deepest night, God is preparing the dawn. Friend, have you ever found yourself in one…

Scripture
"For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning."

— Psalm 30:5

From the book "Still Walking"
"Sometimes, the darkness feels like it will never break. But even in the deepest night, God is preparing the dawn."

Friend, have you ever found yourself in one of those seasons where the night just seems to stretch on and on? Maybe it’s a difficult challenge at work, a health struggle that weighs heavy on your heart, or a relationship that just isn't clicking. It's in those moments, when sleep feels elusive and worries crowd your mind, that the darkness can feel like a heavy, suffocating blanket. We wonder, "Will this ever end? Will the sun ever truly shine again?" You’re not alone. We've all been there, peering into the shadows, yearning for a glimmer of light.

But here's the wonderful news, the truth that will lift your spirit: even in the deepest, darkest night, God is already preparing your dawn! His Word tells us in Psalm 30:5 that "weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning." Isn't that a beautiful promise? It doesn't say weeping *might* stay, or weeping *sometimes* stays. It says it *may* stay for the night – a temporary visitor – but rejoicing *comes* in the morning! Hallelujah!

This isn't just a nice thought; it's a divine guarantee! God 's favor isn't a fleeting emotion; it's an everlasting embrace. Think about it: His anger, if we can even imagine it toward His beloved children, lasts only a moment – like a passing cloud. But His favor? It lasts a lifetime! It’s a constant, steady current of grace flowing into your life, regardless of your past or your present situation. You haven’t exhausted your share of God’s goodness. His well of blessings never runs dry!

The morning *is* coming for you, my friend. It might not be exactly when or how you expect, but God is faithful. He is orchestrating events, working behind the scenes, lining up the right people and the right opportunities to bring about your breakthrough. That weeping you're experiencing? It's not an endpoint; it's just a pathway to the greater joy that He has planned. It's a season, a temporary stop on your journey to abundant living.

So, if you're in a long night today, don’t lose heart. Start looking for the first blush of dawn. Begin to anticipate the joy that is surely on its way. Because with God, every night has an expiration date, and every morning brings a fresh wave of His amazing, unfailing favor. Get ready, because your rejoicing is about to arrive! Your morning is coming, full of hope, full of light, and full of His incredible love!

May this truth fill your heart with an unstoppable hope, knowing that joy is not just a possibility, but a divine appointment waiting for you with every new sunrise. Your best days are always ahead!

Reflect

What "night" or challenging season are you currently navigating, and how can you actively choose to look for the glimmers of God's coming "morning" in it?

Today's prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your amazing promise that weeping is only for a season, and that joy always comes in Your morning. When the nights feel long and challenging, strengthen our faith to believe that Your favor lasts a lifetime. Help us to fix our eyes on You, knowing that You are always working behind the scenes for our good, preparing our breakthrough and our blessing. We choose to anticipate the dawn, confident in Your unfailing love. Amen.
